Associate Counsel C1-AC Provide legal advice to internal clients on a broad range of legal matters related to Epicurus as a business entity. Coordinate with outside counsel. Job requires a Juris Doctor (JD) degree; membership in the Bar; and a minimum of five to seven years of legal experience.

The Epicurus Group will consider applicants who require H-1B sponsorship, but only if the applicant has at least three years of H status remaining out of the original six years of permissible H status. In order to be considered for permanent residence sponsorship, the individual must be employed with the company for 12 months and meet or exceed annual performance objectives established by their management team. This is a minimum requirement for sponsorship. The decision whether to sponsor an individual for nonimmigrant or immigrant status rests exclusively with The Epicurus Group.

Job Duties:
This Associate Counsel position provides legal and strategic analysis, advice and advocacy on the wide range of legislative, regulatory and public policy issues that affect The Epicurus Group and our clients; participates in with the development of corporate policy positions and regulatory submissions; advises business areas on the legal and public policy implications of business activities; and represents The Epicurus Group before regulatory agencies and other outside parties in connection with legislative and regulatory matters.

The subject matter falling within the scope of the Associate Counsel includes financial regulatory matters affecting The Epicurus Group's plans to launch a fund focused upon the financing of restaurant and lodging concepts.

We are seeking an attorney with superior analytical, strategic, legal research, writing and advocacy skills; extremely well developed oral and written communications skills; and the ability to synthesize and analyze information in a very fluid and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will have the ability to work effectively with business and policy clients and to tailor the form of his or her work product and advice to the processes and needs of each particular client. The successful candidate also will be effective in managing numerous issues across multiple substantive areas and in setting priorities independently.

Requirements include a JD from an accredited United States law school; bar admission in good standing; 5-7 years relevant experience. Direct and substantial experience with legislative and regulatory proceedings; knowledge of administrative law, legislative policy and process; and experience with regulatory agencies and/or trade associations. Litigation experience and/or background in securities law are also desirable.
