The Rarest Event

Dr. Robert Angelone, Chief Economist and Director of The Epicurus Institute attended the rarest of events - a town hall meeting at a bank, hosted by the bank's Chairman and CEO.

James Vaccaro, Chairman of Central Jersey Bank, NA hosted a series of town hall meetings in four of his branches over a two week period.

The events were well attended, with people asking Mr. Vaccaro and other executives of the bank pointed questions which were answered honestly and with great candor.

Dr. Angelone attended the last two of the four events, offering attendees answers about general economics and market conditions.

"The question and answer periods were very positive" Mr. Vaccaro said. One attendee, Sasha Jakucs, a bright 11-year old student, said "it would be so much better if Wachovia and other banks did this!" He added "I don't think they would."

Those attending were relieved that their bank was in solid shape, and that the company did not have any toxic debt on its books. More relieving was the fact that the bank never made a single sub-prime loan.

Mr. Vaccaro's candor was well appreciated, and his interaction with clients of the bank was well received.

Dr. Angelone said "this was the most innovative format for assuring customers of the soundness and security of their bank."  He added "Mr. Vaccaro should be commended for such a creative method of bringing the message of Central Jersey Bank to the public in a positive, informative and interactive manner."

Neither Dr. Angelone nor the Epicurus Institute are paid by the bank, nor are they depositors or account holders.
